Church

As soon as the Church began to spread, it had enemies in the face of Jews who did not believe in Jesus Christ. The first Christians were Jews who followed Jesus Christ. The Jewish leaders were hostile to the Lord. In the beginning, the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. Then when the preaching of the apostles began to spread, the persecution of the apostles and other Christians began.

The Jews could not reconcile themselves to the power of the Romans and therefore did not like the Romans. The Roman procurators were very cruel to the Jews, oppressing them with taxes and insulting their religious feeling.

In the 67th year, the revolt of the Jews against the Romans began. They were able to liberate Jerusalem from the Romans, but only temporarily. Most of the Christians took advantage of the freedom of exit and went to the city of Pella. In the 70th year, the Romans brought new troops, who very cruelly crushed the rebels.

After 65 years, the Jews again rebelled against the Romans. This time Jerusalem was completely destroyed and it was ordered to pass the plow through the streets as a sign that here is no longer a city, but a field. The Jews who survived fled to other countries. Later, on the ruins of Jerusalem grew a small city “Elia Capitolina”.
